Mary Jo's thoughts on massage....
Contrary to belief, massage therapy isn't just for the rich and famous anymore.

Stress is the number one disorder people suffer from. For most of us, the responsibility of our family life and increased demands at work make us feel tired and worn out. This leaves very little time for us to relax and take care of ourselves.

This is where massage therapy steps in.  Massage not only feels good and is extremely relaxing, but has a number of benefits such as:

  • Increases blood flow
  • Optimizes joint flexibility and increases range of motion
  • Reduces stress and blood pressure
  • Reduces chronic pain
  • Promotes better sleep
  • Reduces anxiety and depression
  • Boosts energy and improves posture
Massage is certainly among the oldest forms of medicine.  Even Hippocrates, the father of Western Medicine, once said, "The physician must be experienced in many things, but most assuredly in rubbing...for rubbing can bind a joint that is too loose, and loosen a joint that is too rigid."

Massage therapy is a great preventative medicine.  Receiving a massage is just as important as your regular check-ups with your physician or dentist.

Sincerely, Mary Jo Thompson, CMT
